Eric L. HolomanPresident & Chief Executive Officer
Eric is President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlanta Life Insurance Company. In addition to his role at Atlanta Life, he is President and Chief Executive Officer of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, a life insurance and annuity carrier with $26 billion in assets. Eric has led several successful insurance company acquisitions and company restructurings with the goal of improving income and capital levels to create long term viability and job growth.

His prior leadership roles include President of Magic Johnson Enterprises, Managing Director and Board Member of the award-winning television network ASPIRE, and senior leadership positions in private banking with Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

Eric’s public board work includes Banc of California (Banc), where he served on the Compensation, Executive, and Governance Committees. His private board work includes Simply Healthcare, Inner City Broadcasting Corporation, and others. Eric currently sits on the Cedars Sinai Hospital Board and serves as Treasurer of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. He is also the Managing Partner of the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California. He is a member of the Board of Counselors for the Marshall School of Business and the USC President’s Leadership Council.

Ryan L. SmithExecutive Vice President
Ryan is the Executive Vice President of Atlanta Life Insurance Company. Prior to his current role, Ryan was Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company, where he led the company’s innovation, strategy, and corporate development activities. Before EquiTrust, he was the Director of Investments for Magic Johnson Enterprises where he launched and led the Venture Capital practice in addition to his role as an Investor in the Private Equity practice, which included the acquisition of EquiTrust in 2015.

Prior to joining Magic Johnson Enterprises, Ryan was an Investor at Bronze Investments, a minority-owned venture capital firm. Before Bronze, he was an Investor at IMB Development Corporation, a private equity firm focused upon building large-scale, minority-owned businesses. Ryan began his career in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

Ryan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) and received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Paul A. MillerCorporate Secretary and Treasurer
Paul is the Corporate Secretary and Treasurer of Atlanta Life Insurance Company. In addition to his role at Atlanta Life, Paul is also the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of EquiTrust Life Insurance Company where he oversees legal affairs, compliance, regulatory matters, and information technology. Paul joined EquiTrust in 2015. Prior to joining EquiTrust, Paul served as Special Deputy Receiver to the Director of the Illinois Department of Insurance. He also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver. Prior to his appointment as Special Deputy, his career spanned private corporate practice and government positions including Assistant General Counsel to the Office of the Illinois Governor and General Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Illinois State Treasurer.

Paul graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law where he serves on the Alumni Board of Directors and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Kam HarrisVice President, Actuarial
Kam is a Vice President at Atlanta Life Insurance Company where he oversees the actuarial function. With over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry in the retail and institutional markets, Kam has held various leadership roles. Most recently as Assistant Vice President at Fidelity & Guaranty and previously, Director at AXA US (now The Equitable). His experience spans product development and portfolio management, valuation, and various roles in risk management, including Asset Liability Management and Economic Capital Management.

Kam received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Finance with a Specialization in Actuarial Science from the University of Alberta, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Courtney JohnsonVice President, Business Development
Courtney is a Vice President of Business Development at Atlanta Life Insurance Company. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Courtney has held various leadership roles that span different companies, including Regional Vice President of Sales and Service (West), Vice President, Client Relationship Management (CRM) for National Accounts at Prudential, Assistant Vice President, of National Accounts Services, in the South Customer Unit at MetLife. Her background encompasses her time at Mutual of Omaha, where she worked through different aspects of the Group Insurance customer experience from claims to roles in contracting, TPA auditing, and premium/billing auditing.

Courtney received a Bachelor of Psychology (B.A.) from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Trish PayneVice President, Business Development
Trish is a Vice President of Business Development at Atlanta Life Insurance Company. Trish has been in the relationship business for over 20 years. Prior to joining Atlanta Life, Trish had oversight of relationship management for Prudential’s top producing national and regional firms for Group Insurance. This included thought leadership, Continuing Education programs and events. Additionally, she collaborated across Prudential’s US businesses, establishing key connections for overall producer development and growth with a focus on Financial Wellness. Additionally, Trish spent several years at MetLife in an Account Executive role translating client needs into tailored solutions.

Trish received a Bachelor of Science degree, with an emphasis on Healthcare Leadership from National Louis University. She also received a Master of Science degree with a concentration in Professional Counseling. She is also a member of CALIBR.
